Baccarat

Baccarat is another exciting casino game that involves 3 dealers and between 12 and 14 different players. The game is also referred to as Punto Banco, because of the two types of bets available - banco or punto.

Players can decide whether they wish to bet on either banco or punto, although the dealer will normally bet on the former. Banco refers to betting the total value of the bank's funds. A player also has the option of not playing and giving the shoe to the next player at the table. This player will retain the shoe until banco wins. If punto wins, he/she must pass the show to the next player. The object of the game is to add up your cards and reach as close to nine as possible. A perfect hand is considered one that totals nine within the first two cards, with eight being the second-best hand.

The dealer gives each player two hands of 2-3 cards each which must be bet on a tie or a winning hand. Players stand by saying "non" or receive another card by saying "carte". The dealer will place two hidden cards beneath the shoe. The player who bets the most on punto receives the other two hidden cards. Once he looks at the cards, he returns them to the dealer who will reveal both hands. This is when the casino dealer will announce the Baccarat winner. For any bank bets that are won, players have to subtract 5 percent of their winnings for casino taxes.
